Job Description
The Account Manager will manage insurance renewals, client relationships, and portfolio growth in Nairobi, ensuring timely premium collection, client visits, and delivering education sessions while maintaining 100% retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure renewals are carried out within 90 days of the renewal date.
- Organize and attend renewal meetings, including all value‑adding riders and features.
- Respond to client queries within two days or sooner.
- Conduct at least four client visits per client, complete a checklist before each meeting, and prepare a detailed file note on agreed action points; the file note must be reviewed by the division head within one day.
- Achieve 100% business retention within the allocated portfolio and target organic growth of 10% per year.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including covering absences, balancing peak work periods, and equalising workload across functional areas.
- Collect all premiums within 30 days of cover placement.
- Deliver at least one member‑education session for each allocated account per year.
Requirements
- BA/BSc/HND or Diploma (Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field and a Diploma in insurance are preferred)
- 3–5 years experience in the insurance industry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good assessment, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to interact and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Business awareness with solid understanding of financial markets
- Proven planning, coordination, and time‑management skills
- Keen attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field
- Diploma in insurance
