Job Description

Experienced Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant needed in Nairobi to manage client invoicing, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and support finance operations for an international MSP, using QuickBooks/Xero/Sage, ensuring accuracy, timely billing, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue monthly client invoices, ensuring billing aligns with agreed services, usage and pricing.
  • Validate service data and pricing before invoices are released; take ownership of invoice accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve invoicing discrepancies independently; respond professionally to billing‑related queries.
  • Process purchase invoices, perform bank and account reconciliations, maintain accurate ledgers and financial records.
  • Assist with basic reporting and month‑end activities.
  • Work across accounting and operational systems (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or similar) and understand how service delivery data feeds into financial billing.
  • Contribute ideas to improve finance and operational processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping, accounts assistant or similar finance role.
  • Direct responsibility for preparing and issuing client invoices.
  • Hands‑on experience with at least one accounting system (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail, structured approach, confidence with numbers and financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with remote colleagues.
  • Proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in service‑based, subscription or recurring billing environments.
  • Experience in technology, managed services, telecoms or professional services.
  • Experience with integrated systems where operational data feeds into finance.
  • Intermediate Excel skills for data validation and reconciliations.
