Job Description
Lead brand strategy for Kenya Tea Packers, developing and executing marketing plans, managing budgets, overseeing promotions, research, and cross‑functional teams to drive sales, market share, and brand growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and monitor annual strategic brand plans, including economic management of the allocated budget.
- Monitor brand availability and sales; proactively address factors affecting sales and market‑share performance.
- Identify and recommend market‑research programmes to enhance brand positioning.
- Analyse market‑research data (including secondary research) and take corrective actions to improve brand strategies.
- Manage brand advertising and sales promotions to generate growth.
- Plan and coordinate brand PR activities to enhance sales and brand image.
- Monitor competitor activities and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Evaluate and recommend brand‑packaging updates, pack and range extensions, new product development, and oversee implementation with the Head of Sales and Marketing.
- Continuously monitor brand costs and profitability; recommend improvements.
- Prepare monthly brand expenditure and variance reports to control budgeted spend.
- Plan and implement brand media strategy.
- Gather market intelligence through regular trade visits and use insights to enhance brand activities.
- Design, procure and economically distribute brand promotional materials.
- Interact with Area Sales Managers to provide updates on strategic plan implementation.
- Supervise external agencies, conduct continuous review sessions in alignment with the Head of Sales and Marketing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field (BA/BSc/HND).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Brand Management within the FMCG industry.
- At least 2 years of experience at a management level.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (CIM) preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work on cross‑functional teams in both leadership and member roles.
- Excellent presentation and writing abilities.
- Analytical skills to present data, summarize findings and propose recommendations.
- Innovative and visionary in brand development/management.
- Strong project‑management capabilities.
- Strategic thinker and creative marketer.
- Results‑oriented and self‑motivated.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
