Job Description
Oversee construction and maintenance of a multilevel academic building, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, safety, and quality standards while coordinating between architect, contractor, and university stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily site inspections of works
- Attend project meetings, take minutes, and communicate instructions to the architect
- Liaise between the architect and contractor
- Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets and review materials for compliance
- Check works and materials against specifications and Bills of Quantities
- Prepare detailed daily reports and maintain permanent project records
- Prepare and monitor punch lists and follow up on completion
- Observe tests, record results, and verify testing invoices
- Monitor construction schedule and report potential delays
- Evaluate contractor suggestions and submit recommendations to the architect
Requirements
- Diploma in a construction‑related discipline from an accredited university
- Minimum ten (10) years post‑qualification experience
- Participation in at least four building construction supervision projects of similar complexity
- Registration as a construction professional or site supervisor with the National Construction Authority (NCA)
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher Diploma or Degree in a relevant field (preferred)
