Job Description
The Communication Intern will develop and edit content, manage digital platforms, support internal communications, and assist with event planning and logistics for UNOPS projects in Nairobi.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Development and Research: draft, edit and format briefs, fact sheets, biannual reports, press releases, stories, talking points, short articles; support documentation of project milestones; maintain organized records in Google Drive.
- Digital Communications and Media Support: manage intranet and social media updates; create and schedule digital content (posts, visuals, multimedia); maintain shared digital platforms.
- Internal Communications: draft updates, announcements, summaries for staff and partners; assist with online participation for regional meetings; prepare concise meeting notes.
- Event Planning and Logistic Support: support planning and logistical coordination of virtual and in‑person meetings, workshops and events; assist with event documentation; liaise with vendors and service providers.
Requirements
- Minimum first‑level university degree (BA/BSc/HND) or enrollment in a postgraduate program in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
- Minimum three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication, content development, and editing skills.
- Proficiency with digital media tools and content management platforms.
- Ability to manage events and logistics effectively.
- Demonstrated respect for diversity, teamwork, leadership, and analytical decision‑making.
