Job Description
Lead school operations, curriculum delivery, and student welfare as Deputy Headteacher, supporting the Principal in administrative, instructional, pastoral, and community engagement duties at a Christian non‑profit school.
Key Responsibilities
- Deputise the Principal and assume full leadership responsibility in their absence.
- Oversee day‑to‑day school operations, staff rosters, attendance, and learner records.
- Maintain safety, security, and wellbeing of learners, staff, and resources.
- Supervise implementation of the Competency Based Curriculum and monitor academic standards.
- Coordinate internal examinations, analyze results, and drive school improvement.
- Teach assigned subjects and develop instructional materials.
- Manage student discipline, welfare, counselling, and spiritual mentorship.
- Support, mentor, and appraise teachers and non‑teaching staff.
- Organise parent meetings, community engagement forums, and represent the school externally.
Requirements
- P1 Certificate or Diploma in ECDE (Early Childhood Development Education).
- Valid Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Registration Certificate.
- At least 5 years of teaching experience.
- Minimum 3 years as a Senior Teacher or 2 years as a Deputy Principal or similar leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Primary/ECDE) – added advantage.
- Ability to teach Lower Primary – added advantage.
- Servant‑leadership mindset and strong ethical character.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills.
- Strong instructional leadership with basic ICT skills.
- Effective organisational, time‑management, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Compassion, spiritual maturity, and commitment to learner welfare.
