Job Description

The Global Data Analyst will design, build, and maintain organization‑wide BI dashboards, ensure data quality, collaborate with engineers, and drive analytical standards for One Acre Fund’s operations in Kenya.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build foundational, self‑service BI data products by designing, building, and maintaining high‑impact, organization‑wide dashboards that enable self‑service analytics across functions.
  • Ensure dashboards and reports are accurate, well‑documented, and built for long‑term sustainability; monitor adoption and continuously improve usability and relevance.
  • Own analytical domains (e.g., Finance, People, Supply Chain) by deeply understanding business processes, delivering dashboards and data analytics products, prioritizing work, wireframing, designing outputs, and iterating.
  • Partner closely with Data Engineers to embed business rules in the data warehouse and semantic layer, clearly communicate data limitations, and ensure metric consistency.
  • Strengthen analytical standards across the organization by contributing to a community of practice for embedded analysts, codifying standards for dashboard design, documentation, governance, and metric definition, and supporting adoption of best practices in BI development and data storytelling.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in data analytics or BI development.
  • Strong SQL proficiency.
  • Experience building automated data workflows and scalable dashboards using BI tools.
  • Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Python or R.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Superset, Power BI, or Dataiku.
  • User‑centric data design and stakeholder empathy.
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts and semantic layers.
  • Ability to translate complex business logic into clear, usable data products.
  • Experience with data storytelling and communicating insights to diverse audiences.
  • Additional language skills (Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Kirundi, French).
