Job Description

Lead BURN’s electric business marketing, creating behavior‑change strategies, managing budgets, guiding a multi‑market team, and driving adoption of electric cooking solutions across Africa through data‑driven campaigns and stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement behaviour‑change marketing strategies to drive trial, correct usage, and sustained adoption of electric cooking solutions.
  • Lead customer education initiatives, product demonstrations, usage guides, training programs, and community engagement.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with company growth goals.
  • Own and manage the marketing budget, ensuring ROI.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the electric business marketing team and manage external agencies/partners.
  • Oversee marketing initiatives across all electric markets, ensuring local relevance and global brand consistency.
  • Lead the Agent Training team, creating training programs and materials for agents.
  • Support sales enablement, field marketing, trade activations, and improve demo‑to‑sale conversion rates.
  • Develop lifecycle marketing initiatives from acquisition to sustained usage, partnering with Customer Experience teams.
  • Strengthen BURN’s brand positioning and develop product messaging.
  • Conduct market research, track performance indicators, and use data to refine strategies.
  • Monitor KPIs such as product adoption, usage rates, behavioural shift indicators, brand perception, channel engagement, and marketing ROI.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of customer behaviour and behaviour‑change marketing.
  • Ability to translate complex technologies into simple, compelling benefits.
  • Strategic thinker with hands‑on execution capability.
  • Excellent leadership and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Data‑driven, insight‑led decision making.
  • Experience in fast‑growing, multi‑market environments.
  • 5–10 years of marketing experience, preferably in behaviour change and training roles.
  • Proven track record of driving customer adoption and behaviour change.
  • Experience in trade/field marketing or distributor‑led sales models.
  • Experience across African markets is highly desirable.
  • Experience with electric appliances, energy products, PAYGO, or social‑impact businesses is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BSc/HND
  • MBA/MSc/MA
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
