Job Description

The UN‑Habitat Intern supports Governing Bodies by drafting documents, managing meeting logistics, updating web content, conducting research, and assisting with consultative sessions, gaining exposure to UN operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft background papers, documents, talking points, reports, speeches and other correspondence
  • Post meeting documents on UN‑Habitat’s Governance page
  • Create meeting links for Governing Bodies meetings
  • Conduct research, compile and prepare summaries of background material for reports, briefs and speeches
  • Review and update information on relevant websites for Member State access
  • Support preparation, implementation and follow‑up of consultative meetings, conferences and sessions of the Governing Bodies
  • Respond to general inquiries relating to the Governing Bodies secretariat
  • Create and update the Member States directory
  • Update the roadmap towards key meetings
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a graduate school programme or in the final academic year of a first university degree, or already graduated with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD or equivalent
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated interest in United Nations work and commitment to the UN Charter
  • Ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
