Job Description
Join AECF Capital’s founding team in Nairobi as an Investment Analyst, building an impact‑focused investment platform, sourcing deals, conducting financial analysis, structuring transactions, and managing portfolio performance across agribusiness and renewable energy sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Deal sourcing & screening: identify and screen investment opportunities, build relationships, assess business models and growth potential.
- Financial analysis & due diligence: develop financial models, lead due diligence, prepare investment memos and presentations.
- Deal structuring & execution: contribute to structuring debt, quasi‑equity, blended‑finance transactions, coordinate legal counsel, support negotiations.
- Portfolio monitoring & reporting: track performance, prepare quarterly reports, flag risks, provide strategic guidance.
- Platform building: develop investment processes, tools, thought leadership, and participate in industry forums.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline.
- CFA Level I (passed) or professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.
- 2–3 years experience in investment analysis (private equity, venture capital, investment management) and credit/risk analysis (commercial banking, micro‑finance).
- Strong quantitative analysis, financial modelling, and credit assessment skills.
- Highly analytical, commercially minded, mission‑aligned, motivated to build a lasting African investment platform.
Preferred Qualifications
- CFA Level I (passed) or professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA).
- Experience in impact investing or renewable energy sectors.
- Demonstrated thought leadership through blogs, case studies, presentations.
