Job Description
Teach Kiswahili and History/Geography to junior students at Makini High School, developing curriculum, assessing progress, and collaborating with staff while upholding school policies and fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop the school ethos as directed by Directors and Principal.
- Plan, prepare, deliver, assess and report on Kiswahili and History/Geography classes.
- Contribute to team‑building among teaching and non‑teaching staff, parents and Directors.
- Implement school policies and guidelines in consultation with the Principal.
- Differentiate tasks to meet the needs of all students and set clear learning targets.
- Provide a stimulating classroom environment with appropriate resources.
- Maintain accurate records integrating formative and summative assessment.
- Report student progress to parents and maintain discipline per school policy.
- Lead and organise support staff within the classroom and participate in performance management.
- Attend staff meetings, seminars, co‑curricular events and supervise out‑of‑school activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Education degree – Kiswahili & History/Geography option or equivalent.
- Registered member of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a recognised junior school.
