Job Description

Lead M&E strategy for Rainforest Alliance’s Landscapes & Communities portfolio across Africa and Asia‑Pacific, designing systems, ensuring data quality, building capacity, and advancing impact‑driven project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Align L&C project portfolio with Impact Framework in Africa and Asia‑Pacific.
  • Standardize project M&E, embed Impact Framework indicators, and ensure consistent data storage, reporting, and aggregation.
  • Provide capacity building, coaching, and mentoring on L&C M&E frameworks, processes, and tools.
  • Lead design of improved approaches, processes, and GIS‑based tools for M&E, resolve data issues, and enhance results‑based management.
  • Present complex M&E frameworks, processes, and tools to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support local teams and regional Institutional Relations and M&E staff in preparing initiatives with robust theories of change, logframes, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with M&E colleagues to drive impact along Impact Framework pathways toward the 2030 Strategy.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, learning‑focused culture across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in agriculture, forestry or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years progressive experience designing and implementing M&E systems.
  • At least 6 years management‑level experience in M&E data collection methodologies.
  • At least 5 years experience in M&E data quality assurance and analysis.
  • High‑quality spoken and written English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, MSc or MA preferred.
  • Experience with GIS software and data collection tools is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate impact visually and focus on key information.
  • Proven track record facilitating complex data‑gathering across multicultural teams.
  • Strong commitment, energy, and positive mindset.
  • Knowledge of sustainable development issues and Rainforest Alliance’s mission.
