Job Description
Amentum seeks a Packaging Specialist in Lamu, Kenya to perform packaging, labeling, inspection, and material handling tasks, ensuring compliance with Navy standards, safety, and documentation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform packaging, wrapping, labeling, and preparation of materials for storage, shipment, or transport according to Navy and program standards.
- Inspect items for damage, accuracy, and compliance prior to packaging.
- Utilize appropriate packing materials, cushioning, containers, and protective methods to ensure safe handling.
- Prepare documentation, inventory logs, and basic shipping or storage records.
- Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and movement of packaged materials.
- Operate basic material‑handling equipment such as pallet jacks, dollies, and carts.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of packaging areas, tools, and supplies.
- Follow supervisor instructions to complete tasks safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
- Ensure packaging activities comply with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate progress, issues, and safety concerns to supervisors and leadership.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in packaging, warehousing, logistics, material handling, or related industrial environments.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Valid passport with at least one year validity beyond hire date; ability to travel internationally.
- Ability to meet and maintain contract medical requirements for the duration of assignment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
