Job Description
Lead financial planning, analysis, and control for Bamburi Cement's Nairobi plant, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, CAPEX review, internal controls, and working‑capital management while promoting HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and uphold a strong Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) culture in line with Group standards.
- Coordinate and drive the plant’s performance management cycle (budgeting, forecasting, performance reviews) aligned with business objectives.
- Analyze plant performance by reviewing financial and operational reports, explaining variances, and providing actionable insights.
- Monitor and strengthen the plant’s internal control environment, ensuring compliance with Group policies, Minimum Control Standards (MCS), and IAS/IFRS.
- Review and challenge CAPEX proposals for financial viability, strategic alignment, and compliance with Group guidelines; support continuous improvement of CAPEX processes.
- Champion effective working‑capital management, focusing on inventory control in collaboration with plant teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Statistics, or related field (or BA/BSc/HND equivalent)
- Professional qualification such as ACCA or CPA (required)
- Minimum 6 years relevant experience, including at least 3 years in manufacturing or a managerial audit role
- Strong analytical and performance‑management capabilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- High attention to detail and problem‑solving ability
- Ability to influence, challenge, and drive accountability
- Strong leadership and stakeholder‑management skills
- Independent decision‑making in complex environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA (preferred)
- Proficiency in Power BI
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
