Job Description
Lead policy advocacy, programme coordination, and research initiatives for tax justice across Africa, managing teams, budgets, and partnerships while driving strategic communication and fundraising efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop initiatives and partnerships to influence African economic institutions on tax issues.
- Support strategy development and communication of tax policy targets.
- Maintain liaison with global tax‑advocacy partners and serve as key contact across Africa.
- Lead development, planning, and monitoring of programme activities in international tax, extractives, investments and inequality.
- Develop and monitor annual programme budgets and timelines.
- Coordinate day‑to‑day programme operations and ensure quality control and staff development.
- Set research agenda, manage projects, and oversee production of research outputs and reports.
- Develop internal frameworks for writing, editing, and quality control of research materials.
- Provide technical support to thematic leads and partners, and support fundraising for research.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years overall experience, with at least 5 years in a management/leadership role.
- Master’s degree in economics, political science, development studies or a related field.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in economic justice is an advantage.
- French proficiency is an added advantage.
- Self‑starter, flexible, creative and strategic thinker.
- Strong cross‑cultural communication and teamwork abilities.
