Job Description

Responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining public areas in a hospitality setting, ensuring high hygiene standards, safety, and guest satisfaction through diligent upkeep, equipment operation, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, staircases, restrooms, lounges, and outdoor spaces.
  • Maintain continuous upkeep of high‑traffic areas to keep them neat and fresh throughout the day.
  • Replenish restroom supplies such as soap, toilet paper, tissue, and air fresheners.
  • Polish furniture, fixtures, glass surfaces, railings, and metallic fittings to high aesthetic standards.
  • Operate cleaning machines and equipment (buffers, vacuum cleaners, scrubbers) safely.
  • Perform periodic deep‑cleaning tasks such as carpet cleaning, window washing, and floor polishing.
  • Respond immediately to spills, hazards, or urgent cleaning requests to ensure safety.
  • Monitor and report maintenance issues (faulty lighting, damaged fittings, blocked drains, broken items).
  • Keep housekeeping storage rooms and supply carts organized and clean; handle cleaning chemicals responsibly following MSDS guidelines.
  • Assist with event setup, cleaning for conferences, and post‑event breakdown.
  • Collaborate with the housekeeping team for smooth operations and timely support.
  • Record daily tasks, supply usage, and any incidents encountered during the shift.
  • Uphold strict hygiene standards and follow SOPs for cleaning, waste disposal, and sanitation.
  • Maintain professionalism when interacting with guests and respond courteously to inquiries or requests.
  • Support management in enforcing safety protocols and reporting unsafe situations.

Requirements

  • Certificate or Diploma in Housekeeping, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in housekeeping or public‑area maintenance roles, preferably in a hospitality setting.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, customer‑friendly attitude.
  • High level of discipline, honesty, and reliability.
  • Physically fit; able to stand, walk, lift, and perform repetitive tasks for long periods.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
