Job Description
The Reconciliation Analyst ensures accurate, transparent reconciliation of payment transactions across multiple channels, resolves discrepancies, supports settlements, and maintains strong financial controls in a high‑volume fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across payment rails, banks, wallets, merchant accounts, and internal systems.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve reconciliation variances and unmatched items.
- Monitor reconciliation outcomes, track exceptions, and escalate complex discrepancies.
- Support settlements with banks, payment partners, and merchants; validate ledger balances.
- Prepare reconciliation reports and schedules for management review.
- Assist with month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities and post journal entries.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and support automation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements; provide documentation for audits.
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Technology teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in reconciliation, accounting, financial operations, or payment processing.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, data analysis).
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems and reconciliation tools.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Attention to detail in high‑volume environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification (or finalist) is an added advantage.
- Experience in fintech, PSPs, banks, or high‑volume transactional environments.
- Ability to analyze large transaction datasets and identify discrepancies and trends.
