Job Description
Lead security strategy for Browns East Africa Plantations, overseeing risk assessment, 3rd‑party contractors, travel safety, incident response, and team management across factories and estates in Kenya.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive security policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Manage operational activities and performance standards of 3rd Party Security contractors.
- Lead and manage the security team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee travel security management and support through Security Coordination Centre/Control Room.
- Supervise day‑to‑day security operations, including access control, surveillance, and alarm systems.
- Conduct regular drills, training exercises, risk assessments, and security audits.
- Develop and implement incident response and emergency preparedness plans.
- Investigate security incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate security for high‑profile visits, events, and liaise with law enforcement and emergency services.
- Provide security inductions for new staff and visitors.
- Share daily operational situational reports and perform routine spot checks.
- Support safety culture and manage shift security operations at factories and estates.
Requirements
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years progressive security management experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
- Minimum three years experience managing Security Command Centre operations.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices, technologies, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing security operations.
- Proficiency with security technologies and software (CCTV, access control, alarms).
- Experience with physical and electronic security procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications such as CPP or PSP.
- Prior experience as law enforcement, military, or intelligence services agent.
