Job Description
Lead the Cards business across retail, SME and commercial segments, driving portfolio growth, profitability, product development, partnerships, and operational efficiency while managing P&L and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to grow the cards portfolio and improve profitability.
- Own and manage the Cards P&L, budgets, forecasts, and performance tracking.
- Oversee end‑to‑end portfolio performance including acquisition, activation, spend, delinquency, and retention.
- Optimize pricing, cost management, and scheme incentives.
- Ensure regulatory, scheme, and internal policy compliance.
- Formulate and manage the cards product roadmap across credit, debit, prepaid, and virtual cards.
- Identify growth opportunities through segmentation, partnerships, co‑branding, and new propositions.
- Lead automation and digital transformation initiatives for card issuance and servicing.
- Manage relationships with Visa and Mastercard schemes.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to sustain competitiveness.
- Drive card acquisition across digital, branch, and partner channels.
- Collaborate with marketing to increase card visibility and usage.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development for the Cards team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Minimum 10 years experience in banking or financial services.
- At least 5 years in a senior cards, payments, or consumer products leadership role.
- Proven track record of building, managing, and scaling card portfolios.
- Strong understanding of card economics, risk, fraud, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to manage P&L and drive revenue growth.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Strategic Management, or related field (preferred).
- Experience with digital transformation and automation in card services.
- Knowledge of CBK regulations and card scheme rules.
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.
