Job Description
Leads maintenance teams, oversees technical support, projects, and troubleshooting for security technology across Kenya, developing strategies, managing budgets, ensuring compliance, and delivering documentation while fostering client relations and staff development.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to creation and implementation of best‑practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures.
- Manage maintenance teams and functions within agreed budgets, timelines and standards.
- Direct and schedule maintenance activities, monitor quality delivery and eliminate repeat work.
- Review QA/QC and maintenance reports to support future plans and modify activities.
- Produce task deliverables, documentation and reports such as Job Cards, Commissioning Documents, Training Manuals, Completion Certificates, BoQ and BOM reports.
- Maintain records of machines and utilities, analyse them and identify cost‑management and optimisation opportunities.
- Maintain client relations, evaluate and communicate client needs during maintenance duties.
- Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with standards and requisition tools, equipment and supplies.
- Plan, develop and implement new methods and procedures to improve operations, minimise costs and increase labour/material utilisation.
- Keep abreast of security technology trends and maintain currency with the latest products and solutions.
- Direct training and coaching of workers to improve performance and acquaint technicians with company policies and procedures.
- Manage staff capacity and skill levels through HR planning and forecasting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, ICT Security or related field.
- Higher Diploma or Diploma in design technology, engineering, security and risk management or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of maintenance experience, with at least 3 years in project implementation and supervisory roles.
- In‑depth knowledge of physical and electronic security systems (Alarm Systems, Access Control, CCTV, Fire Detection, BMS, etc.).
- Certifications in any of: Gallagher, Avigilon, Cathexis Vision, Milestone, Genetec, Lenel.
- Ability to produce project and commissioning documentation (Job Cards, Site Drawings, Completion Certificates).
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint and Visio.
