Job Description
Senior UI/UX Designer at CIC Insurance Group in Nairobi, leading design strategy, creating user‑centric digital experiences, building design systems, and growing the design team across web and mobile platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders, and engineers to translate business requirements into wireframes, low‑fidelity prototypes, and high‑fidelity mock‑ups.
- Lead end‑to‑end design processes from discovery and user research to final delivery.
- Define and implement a scalable design system and style guide for consistency across products.
- Own visual and interaction design of web, mobile, and internal platforms.
- Use Figma to develop design concepts, flows, and pixel‑perfect prototypes.
- Develop and evolve design methodology, processes, and best practices.
- Build and grow a design department, including recruitment, mentorship, and training.
- Champion brand consistency, accessibility, and innovation.
- Conduct user testing and feedback loops to iterate designs.
- Partner with marketing, development, and leadership teams to align product and brand goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Visual Arts, Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in UI/UX design, creative direction, or product design, preferably in a digital‑first or SaaS environment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing wireframes, user flows, mock‑ups, and final UI designs for web and mobile.
- Expert‑level proficiency in Figma; familiarity with Adobe XD, Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop.
- Strong understanding of design systems, accessibility standards, and user‑centered design principles.
- Experience with design processes such as Double Diamond, Design Thinking, Agile UX.
- Ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear design solutions.
- Experience building and scaling a design function or team (highly desirable).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Passion for design, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in branding or marketing design.
- Experience in agile or cross‑functional teams.
- Familiarity with motion design, animation tools, or prototyping platforms like Framer or Principle.
- Experience with remote collaboration tools (Miro, Zeplin, Abstract).
