Job Description
The Service Advisor ensures excellent customer service by assessing vehicle needs, preparing job cards and estimates, communicating progress, handling warranties, and resolving issues to maintain satisfaction and efficient workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely job cards for customer vehicles to be used by technicians as job instructions.
- Receive and inspect customer vehicles in the presence of the customer to confirm general condition.
- Prepare clear cost estimates for customers, informing them of service/repair costs and upselling where possible.
- Open system job card orders and monitor closing to ensure accurate time recording for job costing.
- Prepare detailed invoices and explain them, along with job cards, defect reports and quotations, to enable informed customer decisions.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly to maintain high satisfaction and retention rates.
- Follow up on work in progress, keeping customers regularly updated and ensuring delivery within promised timelines.
- Appraise warranty claims and advise customers, facilitating timely warranty processing.
- Prepare weekly cash‑sale and work‑in‑progress reports in line with company requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum academic qualification: Bachelors/Diploma in Mechanical, Automotive Engineering or Business Administration (BA/BSc/HND, Diploma acceptable).
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 3 years in customer service/relations management.
- Strong product and technical knowledge.
- Customer‑oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate in Customer Service or Management – preferred but not mandatory.
