Job Description
The STA Financial Inclusion Consultant will train and mentor youth groups on YSLA methodology, mobilize and register groups, facilitate bank accounts, link them to financial institutions, and provide ongoing coaching for sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Train and mentor youth groups on YSLA methodology (savings, lending, governance).
- Mobilise youth and support formation of functional YSLAs.
- Support registration of YSLAs with relevant government departments.
- Facilitate opening of bank or SACCO accounts for YSLAs.
- Link YSLAs to MFIs, SACCOs, and banks.
- Provide ongoing coaching to ensure sustainability of the groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Commerce or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience supporting VSLAs / YSLAs / SILC.
- Strong facilitation and financial inclusion experience.
- Proven experience working with youth groups.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial inclusion, development programmes, or with underserved populations is a plus.
