Job Description
Java House seeks a diligent Storekeeper in Nairobi to manage inventory, oversee stock rotation, conduct audits, and support procurement processes in a fast‑paced FMCG warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain inventory to support warehouse, manufacturing and retail activities
- Monitor stocks, reorder and receive inventory, verifying specifications
- Inspect deliveries for quantity and quality, document discrepancies and manage returns
- Put stock away according to quality procedures, including rotation
- Rotate stock and coordinate disposal of surpluses
- Keep accurate records and documentation for inventory control
- Organise and maintain the inventory floor, labeling systems and storage efficiency
- Restock shelves and arrange store items
- Pick, pack and marshal customer orders for delivery to the National Distribution Centre
- Participate in monthly stock‑take processes and perform inventory audits
- Identify non‑performing stocks and develop utilization plans
- Sort and place materials on racks, shelves or bins
- Check expiry dates, ensuring FIFO and FEFO compliance
- Issue material to customers in the system based on request specifications
- Digitise manufacturing and retail work orders and warehouse checklists
- Perform cyclic counts and routine stock checks
- Conduct weekly stock taking, prepare reports and reconcile records
- Maintain high level of cleanliness and orderliness in the stores
Requirements
- Diploma (or equivalent) in a relevant field
- Certificate in Purchasing and Supplies Management (desirable)
- Minimum one year of storekeeping experience, preferably in a busy warehouse or FMCG environment
- Excellent IT skills and ability to analyse financial data
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a fast‑paced FMCG warehouse environment
- Familiarity with inventory management systems
- Ability to conduct stock audits and produce accurate reports
