Job Description
Senior analyst role assessing credit risk of large corporate, public‑sector and financial‑institution clients in Kenya, requiring strong English/French skills, 3‑6 years banking experience, and analytical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the credit and financial strength of Citi’s most complex large corporate, public‑sector, and financial‑institution clients using quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Prepare credit analysis write‑ups and assign internal credit risk ratings based on independent assessment, due‑diligence, and industry knowledge.
- Continuously monitor the covered portfolio, track industry trends, evaluate impacts on key relationships, and escalate potential credit issues to underwriters, risk, and banking partners.
- Partner with regional and industry stakeholders in Banking and Independent Risk to implement credit assessment and monitoring standards for the portfolio.
Requirements
- 3‑6 years of credit experience in banking, credit risk management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of key financial components (liquidity, leverage).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with corporate and financial‑institution risk analysis is a plus.
- Advanced industry research capabilities and ability to identify and promptly escalate risk issues.
- Arabic language proficiency is an advantage.
